Joseph Encarnacao, is a retired U. S. Navy Master Chief who became a Special Education Para-educator in 2003. In the fall of that year he attended the University of Nothern Colorado to began his Master Program in Special Education, Severe Affective Needs. He continued to work as a para-educator/teacher at Flatirons Academy until 2009. He accepted a position with the Adams 12 School District during that year, and has been with the Independence Academy family since then. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in U. S. History from Excelsior College of New York, and a Master of Arts in Special Education, Severe Affective Needs from the University of Northern Colorado.
